CT Bone Densitometry (or CT-DXA) is a more advanced, reproducible and precise method of reliably measuring the density of the bone which reliably correlates with the risk of fracture (broken bones) in the lumbar spine, hips and occasionally wrist regions. A typical CT-DXA examination takes about 5-10 minutes to perform although additional processing of the CT data is performed by the technologist and radiologist after your examination is completed.
